Day 1: Transfer to Lake Manyara N/Park

You will meet with Mega Wild Safaris driver guide for briefing, pick up and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. You will arrive at the park early, relax and you will have an afternoon game drive. On a game drive, expect to see wildlife such as impalas, waterbucks, buffaloes, lions (tree climbing lions), elephants, and birds –the pink flamingos, cormorants and others.

Day 2 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Drive from Lake Manyara Park to Serengeti Park (for migration)

Enjoy breakfast at leisure before you set off for the morning game drive in Lake Manyara NP. Today, the main focus will be the early risers and other wildlife as they become active for the day. You will drive towards Lake Manyara where a huge population of colorfully beautiful pink flamingos will be sighted. Drive back to pick your luggage or proceed to Serengeti at once if you already checked out.

Day 3 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Migration Safari in the Northern Serengeti Park

Meet with your guide ready for a full day game drive in Northern Serengeti NP. The combined morning and afternoon safari game viewing takes you on a search for big five game and wildebeest. Besides, other wildlife will be spotted including cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, elands, jackals, topis, bat eared foxes and more.

Day 4 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Go Explore Ngorongoro Crater

You will be picked up by your private guide and drive to Ngorongoro Crater. You will descend 600m into this intact crater as you keep an eye on wildlife species like elands, black rhinos, buffaloes, lions, zebras, Kudus, hyenas, warthogs, and birds. Get back to wilderness lodge for relaxation and dinner at Ngorongoro –Karatu Tented Lodge or Eileens Tree Inn.

Day 5 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Ngorongoro Crater expedition –full day

After breakfast, depart for a full day searching for early risers and big five game in Ngorongoro Crater. Today, you will have a picnic lunch and continue with afternoon game viewing and photography, then retire for the night at Karatu Tented Lodge/Eileens Tree Inn.

Day 6 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Ngorongoro Crater –Tarangire

You will be picked up by your private driver guide, and head to Tarangire National Park. Lunch will be provided upon arrival at the lodge and in the afternoon, you will embark on a game drive. Tarangire NP is popular for its diverse wildlife including warthogs, hyenas, hartebeests, giraffes, elands, waterbucks, leopards, zebras, buffaloes, cheetahs, lions, and others. Overnight stay will be at Chem Chem Safari Lodge/Tarangire Treetops/Sanctuary Swala Camp.

Day 7 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Birding & game viewing

Tarangire National Park contains over 500 bird species, and attracts several of migratory bird species especially in November and April. Today’s, you will be spotting birds such as pygmy falcon, steppe eagles, bateleur eagles, spur fowls, ostriches, helmeted guinea fowl, Northern white crowned shrike, Ashy starling, Northern pied babblers, rufous tailed weaver bird, yellow collared lovebirds, superb starling, and others. As you search for birds, you will also be viewing some wildlife including the big game –elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and others. Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and night stay – Chem Chem Safari Lodge/Tarangire Treetops/Sanctuary Swala Camp.

Day 8: Transfer to Arusha, & fly to Kigali

Depart Tarangire NP for Arusha, about 3-4 hours’ drive and you will be dropped at the airport. Fly from Arusha to Kigali, where our company representative will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for relaxation –The Retreat/Kigali Serena Hotel/Onomo Hotel, The Manor Hotel.

Day 9: City tour & transfer to Volcanoes NP

Meet your driver guide for pick up, and you will begin the day with Kigali city tour. The city tour will include visiting Kigali memorial center, Kimironko market and other sites within the city center. Head to one of the best restaurants/hotels for lunch, and later be driven to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 10 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Gorilla trekking

After breakfast, you will be transferred at Kinigi to get briefed about gorilla trekking guidelines. Volcanoes National Park is one of the best places to find mountain gorillas in the world, and has 12 habituated gorilla groups to be tracked. You will be escorted by an experienced park guide and the trek begins at 8:00 am taking you about 2-6 hours depending on the location of your gorilla family.

One hour will be dedicated for you to watch how mountain gorillas behave, and also take photos while in their habitat. Begin walking back to the briefing point/lodge for relaxation.

Day 11 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Golden monkey tracking & cultural tour –Iby’Iwacu village

Golden monkey tracking will be your second primate adventure to be enjoyed in Volcanoes National Park. The trek starts at 8:00 am after briefing from Kinigi, and you will take 2-4 hours searching for the beautiful golden monkeys.

Today, you will have one hour with golden monkeys, observe their daily behaviors and take photos. When you get back to the lodge, lunch will be provided and in the afternoon, you will have an addition of cultural experience at Iby’Iwacu cultural village.

Day 12: Volcanoes NP-Nyungwe N/Park

After a cup of tea/coffee, you will check out of the lodge. Pick up and transfer to Nyungwe National Park, driving to the Southern Province of Rwanda.

Day 13 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and after, you will leave the lodge with your cameras prepared for chimpanzee trek. Get briefed at Uwinka and at 8:00am, head to the jungles to look for habituated chimpanzee community, about 2-4 hours adventure with park guide leading you through. The chimp trek includes one hour of up close and personal with chimpanzees in the wild and taking photos. Get back and relax, till afternoon when you will join others for the canopy walk. This is the first of its kind experience not only in Nyungwe but in the entire East Africa.

Day 14 of 15 Days Tanzania Rwanda Safari: Colobus monkey tracking & relaxation

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast, after, you leave the lodge for briefing about colobus monkey tracking rules. The park official will allocate a park guide to take you through Nyungwe Forest to search for colobus monkeys and other primates. At Nyungwe Forest alone, there are more than 400 colobus monkeys living in the same habitat with other primates.

Day 15: Departure

Have a leisurely cup of tea/coffee and after, you will check out of the lodge. Meet your private driver guide for return trip to Kigali; drive straight to the airport or at the hotel.
