    Day 1 of the 4 Day Gorilla Tracking Safari And Lake Bunyonyi: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

    You will be picked up by our guide from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park which is a home to the endangered mountain gorillas and various bird species.

    You will have lunch en-route at Igongo Cultural centre and proceed to the park arriving in the evening in time for dinner and overnight.

    Accommodation: Mahogany springs (Luxury), Volcano lodge (Mid-range), Buhoma community rest camp (Budget)

    You will assemble at the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers after breakfast ahead of gorilla trekking.

    Proceed for gorilla trekking in the forest that may last 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the animals.

    Meet and stay with the animals for a maximum of one hour, then descend to the park headquarters and then to your Lodge for lunch and relaxation.

    In the evening, you may go for community walk in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture.

    Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs/ Volcano lodge (Mid-range)/Buhoma community rest camp(Budget).

    Accommodation: Gorilla Forest camp (Luxury), Mutanda Lake Resort (Mid-range), Broadbill Forest Camp (Budget)

    Day 3 of the 4 Day Gorilla Tracking Safari And Lake Bunyonyi: Lake Bunyonyi boat trip

    You will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi after breakfast enjoying great scenery views enroute. Lake Bunyonyi is said to be the second deepest lake in Africa and it is the deepest in Uganda.

    It is safe for swimming with no animals therein. The lake is endowed with 29 islands.

    You have lunch at the lodge and thereafter go for a guided motorised boat trip across the lakes lasting about 2 and a half hours.

    You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

    Accommodation: Birdnest @Bunyonyi (Semi-luxury), Arcadia cottages (Mid-range) and Crater Bay cottages (Budget)

    Day 4 of the 4 Day Gorilla Tracking Safari And Lake Bunyonyi: Transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe

    You will be transferred back to Kampala or Entebbe after breakfast with lunch enroute. Accommodation for tonight isn’t included in the trip package.

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda: Bwindi was gazetted as a National Park in 1991 and declared a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in 1994. The Mubare gorilla group was the first to become available for tourism in Uganda in April 1993. Nine groups are now habituated for tourism, and one for research. Spread over a series of steep ridges and valleys, Bwindi is the source of five major rivers, which flow into Lake Edward. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants.     Mgahinga Gorilla National Park sits high in the clouds, at an altitude of between 2,227m and 4,127m. As its name suggests, it was created to protect the rare mountain gorillas that inhabit its dense forests, and it is also an important habitat for the endangered golden monkey. As well as being important for wildlife, the park also has a huge cultural significance, in particular for the indigenous Batwa pygmies. This tribe of hunter-gatherers was the forest’s “first people”, and their ancient knowledge of its secrets remains unrivalled. Mgahinga’s most striking features are its three conical, extinct volcanoes, part of the spectacular Virunga Range that lies along the border region of Uganda, Congo and Rwanda.
