    • Day 1 of the 15 Days Wildlife Safari in Uganda Birding Tour: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park

    You will be picked by our representative from the airport and will be briefed about the safari. You will then be transferred to Kibale Forest National park by road via Fort portal where you will have lunch. You will then proceed to Kibale National Park, late afternoon birding at the park entrance and camp site.

    • Days 2 of the 15 Days Wildlife Safari in Uganda Birding Tour: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest 

    15 Days Uganda Birding Safari

    You will be transferred to the park headquarters after breakfast for a briefing ahead of Chimpazee tracking. You will then set out in the forest in search of Chimpazees. The park is a home to astonishing 12 species of primate and provides one of the highest primate in the world.

    It is also a home to at least 335 species and over 144 species of butterfly. Examples of the birds include the Red-winged Francolin, Red-cheated Fluff tail, White-naped Pigeon, African Pitta, joyful Greenbul, Grey-winged Robin, Abyssinian Ground Thrush, Grey-throated Flycatcher, Crested Flycatcher, Masked and Black-capped Apalises, Uganda Woodland Warbler, Chestenut-winged Starling, Orange-tufted and Tiny Sunbirds and Grey-headed Olive-back.

    You will return to the lodge for lunch and go back in the afternoon for birding.

    • Day 3 of the 15 Days Wildlife Safari in Uganda Birding Tour: Birding in Kibale Forest National Park 

    After breakfast, you will set off to the forest and will spend the whole morning there and return for lunch and in the afternoon you will visit Bigodi swamp eco-tourism to look for different bird species like the Shining Blue Kingfisher, Blue Throated Roller and other rare species and also find the fruiting trees, which attract Narina Trogon, Pied Hornbill, Yellow Spotted, Hairy Breasted and Yellow-Billed.

    • Day 4 of the 15 Days Wildlife Safari in Uganda Birding Tour: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

    You will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park after breakfast. You will be driven along the Rwenzori ranges and savanna grass lands. Queen Elizabeth hosts a large variety and volume of wildlife.

    It boasts one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any game park in the world, from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps and beautiful crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.

    It boasts about 100 species that include Hippos, Lions, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyenas and the elusive giant forest hog.

    It is a home to over 606 species of birds found here including the martial eagle, black-rumped buttonquail, Verreaux’s eagle owl and African skimmer, White-tailed Eagle, Papyrus Canary, Shoebill to name but a few.

    • Day 5 of the 15 Days Wildlife Safari in Uganda Birding Tour: Birding in Maramagambo Forest

    You will be driven to Maramagambo Forest for birding after breakfast. You will come across different primates icluding the Blue Lake the only one in east Africa.

    You will visit the bat cave and the hunter’s cave where you will take a close look at the bats, rock python and the forest cobras.

    You will return to the lodge for lunch. You will go for more birding in the afternoon around Lake George and Mweya Peninsula.

    • Day 6 of the 15 Days Wildlife Safari in Uganda Birding Tour: Game Drives, Boat Cruises & Birding in Queen Elizabeth National Park

    You will embark on an early morning game drive after a light breakfast in search for animals. You will encounter Kobs, Hyenas, Giant forest hog, Bush bucks, Oribi, Waterbucks, Elephant, Lions, Leopards and comical Warthogs.

    You will drive back to the lodge for mid morning breakfast and wait for lunch. After lunch you will enjoy a 2-hours boat cruise on kazinga channel and into Lake Edward.

    This trip passes through possibly the highest pods of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge.

    This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing, ideal for the Uganda safari. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with over 550 resident species.

    • Day 7 of the 15 Days Wildlife Safari in Uganda Birding Tour: Drive to Bwindi, birding through the Ishasha Sector 

    You will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest after breakfast. You will be driven through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth called Ishasha.

    You will encounter animals such as waterbucks, elephant, antelopes, buffalo and kobs. You will have lunch and continue driving in search the tree-climbing Lions.

    You will proceed to Bwindi the home of mountain gorillas Bwindi is the Bird watchers haven! It holds 348 species of birds and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda; and seven red data book species.

    Bwindi is a treasure chest of flora and fauna and the richest forest in East Africa. It is also a home to the Albertine Rift Endemics-Red-throated Alethe, Archer’s Robin-Chat, Kivu Ground Thrush, Montane Masked Apalis, Collared Apalis, Grauer’s Warbler, Short-tailed Warbler, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher, Rwenzori Batis and Strange Weaver.

    After breakfast, transfer to the park Headquarters in which you will be briefed about gorilla trekking. Bwindi National Park is renowned for its impressive mountain gorillas, although it is unpredictable for how long you will track before finding them since it all depends on their movement.

    You will set out with a packed lunch and enough drinking water, and you are advised to wear strong comfortable boots plus a light rain-jacket since the weather in Bwindi Impenetrable forest is highly unpredictable.

    You will be availed with Walking sticks by the park rangers. Visitors are allowed to spend only one hour with the gorillas for the purpose of conservation. The ranger guide will brief you on how to conduct yourself while in the presence of the gentle giants.

    In the evening, proceed to the village for a cultural walk to interact with the local people and participate in captivating traditional performances.

    After the early morning breakfast, you will go for birding only in the forest as you will be seeing a lot of birds like, Western Bronze-naped Pigeon, Dusky and Olive Long-tailed Cuckoos, Fraser’s Eagle-Owl, Montane (Rwenzri) Nightjar, Bar-tailed Trogon, Black Bee-eater, Willcock’s Honey guide, Fine-banded and Oriole-Finch and many more 357 species.     You will be driven to Lake Mburo National Park after breakfast, situated in rolling hills and open grassy valleys. This lovely landscape is complemented by Lake Mburo and four smaller lakes, beautiful and tranquil surroundings where you’ll see impala, eland, waterbuck, klipspringer and rare topi, zebras, and buffalo.

    After breakfast, you will be transferred to Mpanga forest for birding with a stopover at Kaaku Swamp for the Rufous-belied Heron, Lesser jacana, Lesser Moorhen and variety of water birds and again at Masaka Swamp before we stop for lunch in Masaka.

    After lunch you proceed to the Equator for photographs and drive to Mpanga Forest for overnight.

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda: Bwindi was gazetted as a National Park in 1991 and declared a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in 1994. The Mubare gorilla group was the first to become available for tourism in Uganda in April 1993.

    Nine groups are now habituated for tourism, and one for research. Spread over a series of steep ridges and valleys, Bwindi is the source of five major rivers, which flow into Lake Edward. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley.
