6 Days Adventure Safari in Tanzania

This 6 Days Adventure Safari in Tanzania is offered year-round and features the most famous parks in Tanzania. From December to April, you can enjoy the calving season, wherein the wildebeest complete their annual migration and head back to the rich grass plans of the southern Serengeti in Tanzania to give birth. From July to October, you may witness the spectacle of the wildebeest river crossing, where more than a million animals attempt to cross the Mara River while evading the resident crocodiles.

Detailed 6 Days Adventure Safari in Tanzania

Day 1: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Your private safari guide will pick you up at your hotel in Arusha at 7:30 am and you will make your way to Tarangire National Park, famous for its wide number of elephants. Tarangire is huge. As you stand at the park gate and look south, it stretches as far as the eye can see. Known as the ‘Elephant Playground,’ this phenomenal park contains huge herds of these mighty mammals.

But Tarangire is also home to buffalo, lion, wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle and the park can rival Serengeti for sheer animal densities. You will spot several animals including zebras, Grant’s gazelle, and many others. In the late afternoon, you will make your way out of the park and drive to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2 of 6 Days Adventure Safari in Tanzania: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Serengeti National Park.  With Serengeti as our destination, and with the wonders of Tarangire still fresh in your mind, we’ll set out to the north and west for our 3-hour journey. On the way, you can quiz your driver-guide about all aspects of Tanzanian culture, traditions, tribes, and of course wildlife. Treat him as an ‘encyclopedia on legs’, he will rarely disappoint with his answers! In no time, you too will feel like an expert, even before you reach the awesome Serengeti plains.

On arrival, we will take lunch before embarking on our afternoon game drive. Your afternoon game drive here combines the known with the unknown, the certainty that you will be amazed by the uncertainty of exactly what you will see and when. Late in the afternoon, drive to the comfort of your tented camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

You will wake up early morning and will embark on an early morning game drive in Central Serengeti looking for hunting predators, then return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you will be given a packed lunch and will drive towards the North Serengeti for game drives.

The great migration is supposed to be in this area from late July to mid-October crossing the famous Mara River to Masai Mara reserve in Kenya and back to Serengeti. You will have a high opportunity to see them crossing while the crocodiles in the river attack them. The North Serengeti has also lots of big cats, elephants, giraffes, impalas, and hippos and it is another good place to see the endangered black rhino. You will return to the lodge after for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorogoro Conservation Area

You will be given packed lunch. This park is one of the most densely crowded wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals. The crater is often called “Africa’s Eden” and is also considered the eighth natural wonder of the World.  Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze with lions sleeping and lazing in the sun nearby.

At dawn, the endangered black rhino will return to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on the dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Maasai herd their cattle and goats over green pasture and through highland slopes. They live alongside the wildlife here as they have done for centuries. You will be taken to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay after.

Day 5 of 6 Days Adventure Safari in Tanzania: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to your final destination on this epic safari, Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120 km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, Salt Lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.

On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its various landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. You will enjoy game drives in the park and later be driven to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
