The 3 Days Semuliki Tour Uganda Birding Safari will take you to Semuliki National Park, lying on an area of 220 sq km on your Uganda tour, found in Bwamba County in Western Uganda in Bundibugyo district, just near Fort-Portal town. The park harbours an extension of Congo’s Ituri rain forest. It is home to around 52 species of mammals, 300 recorded tree species, 374 butterfly species, and over 400 bird species, hence among the best birding spots in Uganda, and that is why it is called the True birders’ haven.

During the 3 Days Semuliki National Park Tour Uganda Birding Safari, different animal species will be seen, such as Hyenas, white-tailed and the slender mongoose, buffaloes, leopards, elephants, vervet monkeys, cats, among others. Activities to be done will include: Game drives (including the night game drives), chimpanzee trekking, and bird watching trips, among others.

The 3 Days Semuliki National Park Tour Uganda Birding Safari will cover one of the smallest parks in Uganda near the Congo border and the Rwenzori Mountains, it has the riches Flora and fauna in Africa, with its fantastic hot springs, forest walks, rich in bird viewing and primates. The park activities can be combined with the protected reserve of 220sq km, an opportunity for night game drive, chimpanzee trekking, boat ride to Lake Albert to search for the shoebill and water birds, and other mammals can be sighted that include Hippopotamus, forest Elephants, buffalo and lots of Uganda kobs.

3 Days Semliki National Park Tour Uganda Birding Safari: Safari Day by Day

Day 1: Transfer to Semuliki National Park- Night safari Drive

You will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast by our guide and will be transferred to Semliki National Park with a stopover in Fort Portal for lunch.

You will, and after lunch, you will admire beautiful views of the Albertine Rift Valley en route.

Semliki National Park is a bird watcher’s haven with about 400 forest bird species, 300 tree species and 53 mammal species, including the forest elephants, forest buffaloes, leopard, warthogs, among others and 11 diurnal species.

Dinner and overnight stay at Semuliki Safari Lodge (Luxury)

 

Day 2: Boat trip on Lake Albert

Embark on a boat trip on Lake Albert after breakfast. You will encounter pygmy hippos, crocodiles, and waterbucks on the lake. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax in the afternoon.

Day 3: Visit Sempaya hot springs – Transfer to Kampala

Embark on a trail to Sempaya hot springs after breakfast, natural hot springs with a geyser shooting up from an 8m wide hole at 100 degrees Celsius.

Have an opportunity to cook plantains and eggs within the hot springs. Also encounter some bird species and primates like the mangabey and red-tailed monkey along the trail.

You will then proceed to Kampala with lunch en route.
