Apart from white rhinos, the sanctuary is a habitat for many other animals that include bushbucks, reedbucks, monkeys, oribis among others, countless birds that include a shoebill stork and reptiles.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala after an early breakfast by our Uganda tour guide and transferred to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary located on 176 km (100 miles) on Kampala – Gulu Highway in Nakasongola.

You will be briefed by the ranger guide on arrival about the history of the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and all other information about the tracking.

You will then embark on your 2-3 hours trek into the wild sanctuary where you will have a chance to view rhinos at a close distance. You may also get a glimpse of other wild animals and birds.

The trekking time however depends on the location of the rhinos. You will have a warm lunch at the canteen, relax for a few minutes and be transferred back to Kampala or Entebbe reaching in the evening.

The best time for rhino tracking is throughout the year, either in the morning or in the evening hours for 2-3 hours
