- How to reach the top?
Climbing Sabinyo involves walking a ridge with striking drops into gorges in Rwanda and Uganda with the final hiking having ladders. Once at you will be in Rwanda, DR Congo, and Uganda at the same time. The journey takes about 8hours round trip covering a 14km stretch.
It lies at 3474m above sea level and it’s the smallest of the Virunga volcanoes. How long to get to the top? the hike takes about 6hours round trip going through pure Bamboo forest and it has a lush swamp on top which was formerly a crater lake. It’s situated between the Muhavura and Sabinyo mountains.
Muhabura meaning the ‘’guide’’ lies at 4127m and it’s the highest peak in the park. The top has a clear lake about 36m wide and provides panoramic views into Rwanda and Uganda with amazing photographic moments.
How long to get to the top? the hike takes about 8hours round trip covering 12km. it’s a long hike to the top making it tough coming down.
