Detailed 13 Days Uganda and Victoria Falls Safari
Day 1: Journey to Kibale Forest – The Primate Capital
Scenic Transfer and Cultural Encounters
The 13 Days Uganda and Victoria Falls Safari begins with a scenic journey to Kibale Forest National Park, one of Africa’s most celebrated primate destinations. The road leads through rolling hills, vibrant countryside, and bustling local towns. Travellers enjoy changing landscapes that reflect Uganda’s natural beauty and cultural richness. Tea plantations stretch across the hills near Fort Portal, creating a refreshing and picturesque environment.
This drive introduces Uganda’s charm and diversity. Unlike typical Kenya Safari routes or Tanzania Safari plains, this region offers a unique forest ecosystem filled with life. Upon arrival, guests settle into a comfortable lodge surrounded by nature. The peaceful environment provides the perfect setting to unwind after the journey.
Additionally, travellers may explore nearby communities and experience local traditions. This interaction builds meaningful connections and supports community tourism. Such experiences enhance Uganda Safaris by adding depth and authenticity beyond wildlife encounters.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Experience
Close Encounters with Primates
The second day begins with an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest. This Park hosts one of the highest concentrations of primates in the world. Travellers walk through dense forest trails guided by experienced trackers. The sounds of the forest create anticipation as chimpanzees communicate across the canopy.
Once located, the encounter becomes unforgettable. Observing chimpanzees in their natural habitat reveals their intelligence and social behaviour. This 13-day Uganda and Victoria Falls Safari experience rivals the most iconic wildlife moments found in Botswana safari destinations or South Africa Safari reserves. Uganda Safaris offer a more intimate connection with nature, making each encounter personal and meaningful.
Exploring Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary
After lunch, the 13 Days Uganda and Victoria Falls Safari journey continues to Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This community-managed area showcases Uganda’s commitment to sustainable tourism. Visitors walk through lush wetlands filled with birdlife and small mammals. Colourful species create a vibrant atmosphere that delights nature lovers and photographers.
Furthermore, this experience highlights the importance of conservation and community involvement. Similar initiatives across Rwanda safaris and Namibia safaris demonstrate Africa’s dedication to protecting natural resources. Travellers leave with a deeper appreciation for the delicate balance between tourism and conservation.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wildlife Encounters Begin
The 13 Days Uganda and Victoria Falls Safari continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse wildlife destinations. The journey reveals stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains, often called the Mountains of the Moon. These dramatic peaks create a breathtaking backdrop for the adventure ahead.
As travellers enter the park, wildlife sightings begin immediately. Elephants roam freely across the savannah. Buffaloes graze in large herds. Antelopes and warthogs move gracefully through the landscape. This experience mirrors the excitement of Zimbabwe Safari plains and Mozambique Safari ecosystems.
Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
The 13 Days Uganda and Victoria Falls Safari highlight of the day unfolds during a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The cruise offers close views of hippos, crocodiles, and elephants along the shoreline. Birdlife thrives in this environment, creating a paradise for birdwatchers.
Additionally, the boat cruise provides excellent photography opportunities. The calm waters reflect the surrounding landscape, enhancing it every time. This experience adds variety to Uganda Safaris and complements traditional game drives found in Kenya Safari and Tanzania Safari itineraries.

Day 4: Full Exploration of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning Game Drives
An early morning game drive sets the tone for a full day of exploration. Predators become active during this time, offering chances to spot lions and hyenas. The savannah awakens with movement as animals begin their daily routines.
Each sighting adds excitement and depth to the 13 Days Uganda and Victoria Falls Safari. Elephants move in family groups, while leopards remain elusive yet captivating. This experience competes with the best wildlife encounters across Botswana safari regions and South Africa Safari parks.
Crater Lakes and Evening Adventure
In the afternoon, travellers visit the scenic crater lakes surrounding the park. These volcanic formations create stunning landscapes and unique ecosystems. The calm waters and lush vegetation provide a peaceful contrast to the open savannah.
An evening game drive concludes the day with additional wildlife sightings. The changing light enhances the beauty of the park and creates memorable moments. This balanced itinerary ensures travellers experience both adventure and relaxation.
Day 5: Ishasha Sector and Transfer to Bwindi
Searching for Tree-Climbing Lions
The journey continues to the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. This rare behaviour attracts wildlife enthusiasts from around the world. Lions rest on tree branches, creating unique photographic opportunities.
Moreover, the hosts’ diverse wildlife includes elephants, buffalo, and antelopes. This variety enhances the safari experience and reflects the richness of Uganda Safaris.
Entering Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
The 13 Days Uganda and Victoria Falls Safari then proceeds to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to mountain gorillas. This UNESCO World Heritage Site represents one of Africa’s most conservation areas. The dense forest creates an atmosphere of mystery and anticipation.

The ranger guide will brief you on how to conduct yourself while in the presence of the gentle giants. When found, visitors are allowed to spend only one hour with the gorillas for the purpose of conservation. You will return to the lodge for lunch.
After Lunch, you may have an optional visit to the famous Batwa tribe. The Batwa tribe, known as the “Keepers of the Forest”, are the pygmies of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. At the Batwa homestead, you will observe how the women prepare, cook and serve a meal. You will be entertained by ancient legends and traditional songs.
